Ga naar NederlandsIn our Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Online English course, you will learn all the relevant theory about Lean Six Sigma at an internationally recognized level. You will develop the right skills and competencies to independently and sustainably apply the methods and techniques in your own improvement projects.
This online course consists of 22 sessions of 3 hours each. In these learning modules, you will develop an in-depth knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma, learning how to measure, analyze, and improve processes using the DMAIC framework and statistical techniques, while also building the competencies needed to effectively lead improvement projects and achieve sustainable change.
The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt online course is designed for project leaders and consultants who have (or will take on) a leading role within a Lean Six Sigma organization. In this role, you will carry out larger Lean Six Sigma improvement projects, coach and support Green Belts, and act as a discussion partner for management.
This is a higher professional education (Bachelor’s level) course, and no specific prior education is required.
After the course, you will be able to independently initiate, manage, and successfully complete larger Lean Six Sigma projects. By applying Lean and Six Sigma techniques, you will be equipped to efficiently and systematically identify, analyze, and improve process problems. This leads to higher quality and productivity, reduced costs for the organization, and increased customer satisfaction!
In addition to the English Lean Six Sigma Black Belt online training, we also offer a classroom-based course and a self-study option. All formats lead to the same qualification level. We are happy to help you choose the option that best fits your needs!
During the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt online course, we create a learning environment where you can immediately apply and practice what you learn under the guidance of professional trainers. We alternate frequently between theory and practice, making extensive use of interaction and assignments.
Part of the course involves working with and practicing statistical analyses, for which you will need Excel and MiniTab 16, 17, or 18.
22 Learning modules
This online course consists of 22 training sessions of 3 hours each.
Part 1
You will learn the fundamentals and essence of Lean and Six Sigma. Lean is both Doing Lean (the techniques) and Being Lean (the right mindset)! We teach you how to effectively initiate the right improvement project.
You will also learn how to measure, analyze, and improve processes. You’ll practice mainly Lean and change management techniques and apply them directly in a mini-project within a highly realistic simulation game.
Part 2
After an introduction to (applied) statistics and MiniTab, you will learn how to set up valid measurements and determine process performance. You’ll then perform graphical and data analyses to identify the true root causes of process problems.
Once the root causes are clear, you’ll learn how to model improvements using experiments. Of course, you will also learn how to implement and sustain improvements, making continuous learning and improvement second nature!
All our Lean Six Sigma courses are delivered and/or guided by our professional certified trainers. They not only have extensive experience and expertise in applying Lean Six Sigma principles, but they also teach with enthusiasm, ensuring that participants gain skills and knowledge with confidence and motivation.
You will be trained to the internationally recognized Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification level in accordance with the requirements of ASQ® (American Society for Quality). Upon completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Participation.
English Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Exam
After completing the course, you can take the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt exam. This online exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. You will pass the exam if you answer at least 70% of the questions correctly.
The online exam is offered at 14 locations throughout the Netherlands and can be taken on any weekday (and occasionally on Saturdays) at a time that suits you best.
Practical Certification
If you want to become a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, you will complete this learning path with practical certification. This requires the successful completion of two improvement projects using the Lean Six Sigma methodology. You will present the approach and outcomes to the examination committee. A minimum grade of 7.0 is required to pass.

As a Green Belt, you spend roughly 20% of your time identifying problems, implementing solutions, and optimizing processes, leaving enough room for other tasks. A Black Belt, on the other hand, dedicates more time to Lean Six Sigma because they handle more complex problems and lead multiple improvement projects.
Green Belts focus on solving issues within a single department, making their responsibilities comparable to those of a project manager. Black Belts have broader responsibilities and take on a leading role.
